YuFu winced after gulping cold coffee. From across the table in a small Headquarter’s office, Oshun’s expression looked just as bitter. “Your android took Lulu to Eastport’s harbour. Someone hacked the harbour’s CCTV system at the same time. While most ships are tracked, many illegal boats come and go from that docking yard.

He swallowed. “How can it be so? Nerthus is a developed planet.”

“Is that what you think?” Oshun shook her head. “The secret service has a lot to contend with at the moment. We will search for your daughter, though. She is one of our top priorities.”

“And what are your other priorities?”

“Frederica’s army of cyborgs has gone missing.”

“What?” His head drew back.

“Before or after Frederica came to Nerthus, she copied her memory chip and inserted it into Sonja’s brain. I think she managed to upload it into a clone, and then she took control of them. She even got them dressed in their cloaking technology. They vanished.”

“Maybe she took Lulu. Vengeance for when I killed her lover—Blayne.”

“Perhaps. Those cyborgs make good hackers as well as STAR’s cyber-criminals.”

His jaw clenched. “Your MSS will be too busy searching for Frederica’s lost army to save my girl.”
